Unfortunately, I still can't get it to work|
On both Firefox and Internet Explorer, I get the spinning wheel, but no results. Hopefully Zemanta will work better for some of you. They just released support for Drupal, MySpace, Tumblr, and Ning, in addition to the plugins for WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, MovableType, etc., released previously.

follow the linky-linky for more details...
I've been using it in Firefox for a couple of weeks now with good results. Some of my fellow authors on GeekDad have, too. I wonder if you have something weird on your system that's interfering with it.

it appears to be something with scripting....
i think perhaps if I "de-customized" my journal to the maximum extent possible maybe it would work.

We're working on ability to help you
we're seeing some strange happenings in some LiveJournal cases because the way LiveJournal is programmed that doesn't play nicely with our scripts.
We're constantly making changes in the code and also adding new debugging scripts. So while I can't really help you much at this point, I'd just like to say that we're working on ways to help you.
While writing this post I'm thinking of easy alternatives for posting. One way would be to use the "reblog" - so you go to http://www.zemanta.com/popular/
and click reblog and just ignore the left column, and write your post and then use the publish to post to your LiveJournal. This way you'll have suggestions and also publish to your blog. This is a terrible work-around, so I'll see if we can have a stand-alone version that will allow you to do that.

Another option: work with the major client developers. I almost never use the LJ interface unless I'm trying to use their embedding widget to embed off-site multimedia content.
For most normal purposes, I use Semagic.
I think for Semagic to work you would have to actually implement a "Zemanta pane" plugin to the UI...not sure how hard that is on a scale from one to ZOMG-hard...
