Coal and I found a fawn, prettypammie took pictures

Fawn, resting Fawn
Fawn, resting
Fawn
Fawn, peeking Looking...a little worried
Fawn, peeking
Darn...I see them, and I know they see me.
Looking...a little worried
But our little fawn is staying put, hoping mama will come to the rescue.
Where's the fawn? Zooming in
Where's the fawn?
The camouflage against the leaf litter is remarkable. I would never have spotted this fawn on my way down the driveway if it hadn't been moving as Coal and I went down the hill.
Zooming in
Pam started to zoom in, revealing our woodland friend.
Fawn at rest Fawn, zoomed closer

Fawn, zoomed closer
Quite obvious, up close.
Fawn, another zoom series Fawn, zoomed more
Fawn, another zoom series
From this angle, the camouflage was not as good. The doe did a really good job...the berm abutting the driveway, a ring of discarded stumps, and the adjacent woodpile [not pictured] make this a really safe nest...if it weren't for the big gravel driveway cutting right past it!
Fawn, zoomed more

Fawn, up close
If I can't see them...
...maybe they can't see me?

When W gets back to us from Tennessee, this young pup will be joining us, becoming a Livestock Guardian Dog for the chickens.

  • Peeking out

We're looking forward to meeting her, too.

I think Pam's not trained to react to the back side of a phone the same way one responds to a camera.
