From WoW's patch 1.8.3 "ReadMe" blurb: the Blizzard Launcher also scans for Trojan viruses and third-party cheat programs and notifies you if it has located any on your machine. Okay, so it's not a "RootKit," they're right out in the open, and WoW's in-game scans for 3rd party cheats have already been reported.
Maybe they should start using "captchas" in-game: "Say the inscription below in order to receive your reward! [captcha text]."
I wonder if I'll have to accept a new Terms of Service when the updater finishes or if I've already given all my rights to my own box away. Probably the latter, ah well. I'm not going to wait for the updater to finish. Time to go to work.
