My dad and I make up silly songs...|
...just ask prettypammie...I was doing a riff on "She'll be comin' round the mountain," regarding the impending arrival of the garbage collectors. Dad helped me finish a difficult line.
I said, we're a regular "Gilbert & Sullvian." He heard "Dilbert & Sullivan." I replied pretty swiftly, "that might be pretty apt, for us." His rejoinder, "I'll take Sullivan." Me, shaking my head, "I knew you would."

I, too, come from a silly-song family. It's confusing to some people sometimes that I have a song for, say, finding the measuring cups. But I think it's a good thing. :-)
My father had a yearly tradition of writing full-length adaptations of Christmas poems or songs for a while. From which we got, "A visit from Bubba Claus," "A Few of My Favorite Kinks" and other gems.
