So exhausted today...|
My parents got Quinn's room cleaned out today--dressers and closets emptied, etc., so we have some room there. I pretty much failed at my goal of cleaning out our room. What I did instead: fell asleep for several hours. My main problem is a surfeit of completely uncategorized papers ranging from long-term files to immediate bills--including the stupid parking ticket from DC that needs to be appealed by NLT 8 Jun. I need to move swiftly and decisively to ge through all this, and yet amid such noise and haste not discard the desiderata.
Posting that link, and re-reading it, I realized that while many of you know me as "Happy" or "Happy Pete," it's less certain how many of you knew the origins of my traditional benediction of parting: "Be happy!" By the way, the copyright date on the web page is incorrect--the poem was actually written by Max Ehrmann in 1927. [c.f. http://alt-usage-english.org/excerpts/fxgoplac.html, et al. ]

I feel your pain
The movers took nine hours to get not even all of our stuff into our summer rental.
I was so tired I wanted to weep last night. (And nearly did.) I unpacked about 10 of the 47 (not exaggerating) boxes that were once my kitchen. Then realized that if I continued, I would begin to hurl much unprovoked abuse at my beloved, so I went to bed.
Thanks so much for your recent kind wishes.
