Yes, that's right backed itself up! So now all three places my valid data could be--online, in the file, and in the backup--have been scrubbed.
Basically my only hope is that I can call Microsoft and have them restore my account to the state it was before this cascade of chaos--and that the data can also be sent back down to my desktop file, intact.
Oh, and guess what--that support team doesn't start answering the phones until 8 a.m. tomorrow.
I am so screwed...I am seeing the distinct, high probability of countless hours poring over paper and electronic bank statements recreating and reconciling my data.
