My friend and coworker must think I know everything and everyone:

[13:06] [friend]: just wanted to get an answer from you if you knew anyone looking for a job who is a linux guru with experience in high performance IO
[13:06] [friend]: cuz i know you know a lot of people, and [a practice director] needs such a person for full-time work at [a client location in Albuquerque, New Mexico]

So, if you

  • like the things I've said about HPTi (that search will just get the public posts; there may be more memories that are friends-only),

  • are looking for a job,

  • and are living in Albuquerque, NM or would be willing to move there...
Or if you know somebody who might fit that bill, please have them contact me, post-haste.

Um...let's just say that a certain active high-level Department of Energy clearance would probably be a huge plus, but is not a pre-requisite for consideration--there aren't that many people in the world that fit all of the above criteria at once!

Would a foreign national with a work permit and currently seeking citizenship qualify for the position?

I'm just starting to work on a "Linux Specialist" certificate next quarter... 'Course, I'm not in New Mexico, and I won't know what I'm doing for at least a year or so...

keep me posted.

I think this position is for someone who's got many years of experience in serious high-performance I/O for supercomputing applications...

that said, I could certainly refer you for other positions!
