What she said...
Quinn truly enjoyed the movie, as did prettypammie and I.

Hrm...what he said, too. I hadn't thought of the Holly Hunter angle--but yes, in many ways she really did help make this movie.

it's partly I didn't have the "oomph" to write my own entry of substance ;)

If that's considered substance, I think we're both in trouble!

good point...it probably took me more effort to copy and insert the hyperlink than it took you to write the entry..

I'll admit the quote came to me as we were leaving the theatre, I just had to get home and type it... :-)

vvalkyri is hilarious that way--she actually carries a notebook around to capture "overheards" and "quotables."

*nod* It was an excellent movie. In seeing it again I saw a lot that I missed. They leave a lot of clues that people don't pick up on the first time around.

That said, I think what made it was the script. Someone paid a lot of money to the right people to come up with a really creative and top quality script. It was classic in it's themes (life, insecurity, shyness, bravado, quiet strength, parents with kids, and lovers) while taking it into a fun and interesting direction.

true...

there're precious few substituts for a good script...a bad actor can foul up a good script, but even the best actor can't turn copper into gold...

B and I really enjoyed it, too. We're going to take H to see it, but I think C will wait on it for a little.

I understand....

Quinn seems pretty resilient at handling a little bit of the action and violence without "reflecting" it in his behavior...if it were any more severe or realistic I might have had questions about it.
