Just means less chance that I'll be picketing against encroachments on some forms of personal and economic freedom, and more likely that I'll be picketing about others.
Gun rights? Probably not too much to worry about. Taxes--short term, good; long-term, we're still heading right towards that same old brick wall at break-neck speed, and accelerating...
Religious and reproductive freedoms? Equal treatment regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation? Okay, these could definitely be problems. Not that I wish the Chief Justice ill--I hope he manages to recover--but why couldn't Rehnquist have fallen seriously ill and failed to come back to work as planned a week or so earlier when people might have had time to digest the implications...
Of all the party candidates, Michael Badnarik got the highest national vote total...around 400,000. Only Nader (running as an independent) did better. So, we can still make a credible claim to "largest third party." I suppose.
