Paintball mayhem

I went out with some coworkers, a former coworker, his brother, a couple of clients, and some of their family and friends. There was much madness and mayhem. One thing about paintball is that you really do need to sneak about...most of the kills against me were from people I never saw until I was shot. (I guess that may be true of more lethal forms of combat, these days, too). I know this isn't a sport for many people, but I've always liked simulated, live combat...when I was a kid, the big thing was laser tag. I wonder if that's still around anywhere? Ah-ha...with the Internet, all things are possible. The International Laser Tag Association says there are arenas in NJ:

  • BRIDGEWATER, Bridgewater Sports Arena, Zone Empire Equipment;
  • PARAMUS, SportsWorld;
  • PRINCETON JUNCTION, Laser Park Entertainment; and
  • TOMS RIVER, Recreation Station
Any of you have experience with these or other parks in NYC, or PA or NY near Northwestern Joisey? Comments?

How about in Northern Virginia? Shoot...I can't remeber the name of the early operator--I played there back in the late eighties, early nineties...They had some cool arenas (smoke, obstacles, the obligatory thumping techno music...)

I digress...anyway, we had a good time, my coworkers and I had dinner and brews afterwards--much needed refueling. Then the nearly two-hour drive home. Yay for goldlioness who talked with me almost the whole ride home. It makes it so much nicer to have company, whether it's a passenger or a "virtual passenger" on the phone with me.

Argh... Clever Island is annoying me. My credit card information changed from when I signed up, and now it is nearly impossible to reactivate it. I think I'm going to give up and start over with a new account.

ladysea, fiddle_dragon, marcbs and songwind, I'm sorry that it's been out of action since the beginning of April. I hate to lose all the history data, etc. (favorite activities, time spent in various types of activities, etc.), but I'm beginning to think that it's better just to start over. This would mean new usernames for our young'uns, most likely..do you think your young ladies would mind?

warning: the Paramus one may be closed sunday. Call and ask. Most things in Bergen County are closed on Sunday. I think it may be the last place in the US with blue laws that apply to general merchandise.

Is that the name of the Wash/Balto area laser-tag type thing you were thinking of? I only went to the one in East Baltimore (North Point Blvd, I think).
