more than a dime, surely? How much do you feel is appropriate to donate? I was thinking about that. I just requested mine, but haven't donated yet. I'm not clear what the colors represent, if anything. Did he send you the groupings?

the sizes represent tiers...
the grouping represents separate-but-equal-sized groups within the tier
So, for example:
Top tier, group 1: ame_chan amorsalado greendalek moonstaff NoelFigart shaktiqueen sidhe79 (We could call this the PolyFamilies or OLQ tier)
group 2: d0minique slfdstrx valiskeogh nekotori vonchewie wild_roses willowredwolfe (We could call this the Huntsville tier)
here it gets complicated and I haven't parsed it completely--say person A is mutual friends with all but one of the people in one of the top tier groups, they would be listed as a single, second-tier group member...I suggested to the author of the mind-map that he delineate the separate tier sub-groups in the text output...but, again, there should be a slightly smaller font and same colors for the same groups...
Clearly in the list below jenkitty and kendaer are in the same tier...
Once you get listed in a tier, your links to people in other, equal or smaller tiers are drawn, but your name appears only once.
Make sense? Oh, yeah, I gave $5, but he's said in comments elsewhere that he'll draw your color map, etc., if you even give him a dollar.
I never got a good feeling for what were supposed to be the criteria for where people showed up in your list.
There were a TON of people on there that I've never heard of.

The idea is this...
It searches your friends list, drawing a link for users who are both on your friends list and list you as a friend. This is the population that will appear on your map. Now, it scans the population, adding a link for each of your friends in the population who lists someone else in the population as a friend.
Next, it looks for complete meshes in the population--subsets where each member of the subset lists every other member of the subset as a mutual friend. (Note that by the definition of the population, you are a member of every such subset). The subset or subsets with the most members is designated "tier 1" and gets the largest font on the resulting map. The next largest subset--excluding any members that have already been mapped in an equal or larger subset--is mapped. Each time the number in the subset (before exclusions) decreases, the font drawn also decreases.

Re: Ya bastard!
You must be, as you friend me and I friend you...
It only includes "mutual friends."
I hadn't noticed that it only includes livejoural friends lists.....
And I hadn't bothered to add anyone on my list.
