lookin' good

Back from our weekend trip.

I hope to have pictures to post here and the web-site, soon. We went over the river and through the woods to Grandma Nancy's and PawPaw Bud's log cabin in Southwestern, Virginia.

We all had an awesowe time...Quinn loves playing with all his grandparents--highlights of the weekend for him were a walk in the woods (he could have done without grabbing that Spiny Caterpillar), digging potatoes and carrots and onions in the gardon, playing with an presurrized-air fueled, water-propelled "Space Rocket," and spreading out his new horses across the big living room hardwood floors.

Grown-up highlights included participating in all that, prettypammie picking blackberries with her mom, watching and copying Quinn home movies on the double-deck VCR, eating some delicious dinners featuring homemade bread and fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden. They have 78 acres and the little "log cabin" does indeed feature that classic "dove-tailed log" look from the outside; on the inside it's well-appointed and constructed. Quinn liked the in-door water and ice dispenser...a feature not available in the mom and dad or Grandma Anne and Grandpa Bill appliances.

I'm still fighting a cold and/or sinus infection and/or allergies...so props to the lovely prettypammie who did all the driving. Pam found a tack shop only about 45 minutes out of the way. On the trip home, we shopped for clothes and accessories for Quinn's upcoming lead-line class at the end of the month. Unlike every other place we've looked, they had a pair of show Jodhpur pants that actually fit! Grandma Anne is still going to make a specially fitted set using her Dress Shop software--she's in business as a Dress Shop trainer and reseller, so in addition to riding pants that Quinn can wear this will be an example she can put up on her web-site of how to solve "special sewing problems" with the software. That's about all I know about it, so if you're a seamstress (or "seamster?") and want more information, leave me a comment and I'll put you in touch with her.
