lookin' good

Let me explain..

No, is too much. Let me sum up:

Cousin Daniel got married to Ashley for the second time this weekend.

The booster for the brakes failed on the way to the rehearsal dinner on Saturday. Car gets towed off from That's Amore in front of assembled family and friends.

Wedding and ceremony go off without a hitch, including three out-of-town groomsmen (including yours truly) getting in tukes. One almost-comic moment--we're all dressed and realize that one of the groomsmen's vest and tie are different from the rest...quick conference--only person _ allowed _ to look different is the groom. Swap-er-roo. Luckily makeup and hair people were an hour late, so the boys were still on time (defined as "not as late as the girls").

My mom made Quinn a vest this week on the spur of the moment, because we found a cute bow tie for him. He was SOOOO adorable. He danced and danced and danced until he was asleep on his feet...we put him in the stroller, or tried to, and he insisted "dance! dance!" so prettypammie took turns dancing with him on our shoulder.

We did not worry about the car at all on Sunday.

Monday we are supposed to be back at work mid-day; instead we go to work at Corporate HQ in Ballston, while mechanic fixes brakes.

Home we go, late last night.

Pam drives a long way and fades; I take over the wheel. At 1 a.m. I can't take it any longer, and I pull in to a service area to switch back to Pam for the home stretch. The booster has burned out again. Brakes are, I'm not kidding.

After weighing all the towing and lodging options--which gives the brakes a chance to cool and recover somewhat--we choose to limp home.

We arrive at 3 a.m., pass out, and are up at 7 this morning to go to work.

I love you all. Good night. More details later.

Oh, and love and thanks to vocal1: Pam, Quinn's and my 2005 WorldCon site selection ballots are going to make it to ConJose by her good graces.

Groomsmen gift...

Is the second coolest I've ever gotten...and the first time I've ever gotten a computer game as a groomsmen's gift. Empire Earth.

I probably won't get much chance to play it.

(no subject)

I got to "skip=120" on my friends pages, realized I hadn't replied to anything, despite the wanting too...I think I'm not going to catch up.
