Dave and Buster's

The Bear and I were going to go to D&B's tonight, which is one of my favorite things to do in the world--and apparently his, too...he has some disgustingly huge number of ticket vouchers banked up. It's over 16,000.

But after the weekend trip, the business trip, stress over stuff, and two nights of almost no sleep--and little rest when sleeping--I'm just not up to enjoying it and being good company.

I'm thinking Rain Check to a Friday or Saturday night or Saturday or Sunday day when (a) I'm rested, and (b) I don't have to watch the clock to get home in time to get up for work the next day.

That and I have 7.5 points left today (well, 12 less than my max, but I want to bank 5 for later this week)...being at D&B's and not having ANYTHING to eat would seem wrong somehow. I think.

After a protracted battle with cancer...

...Pam's Great Uncle Clarence Fenske, decorated WWII veteran of the African, Italian, and European campaigns, died yesterday.

He was a sweet man who took Pam, Quinn, and I into his home last year when we moved here--taking a family with a toddler in, despite his cancer. He offered us his home without hesitation. He rapidly became Quinn's "Uncle Uh-oh." Quinn loved to play with him, and play with his "Buzzy Chair."

His last few months were so painful that he didn't want visitors most of the time, and only occasionally was up to talking on the phone.

I hope our little guy brought him joy in his last year, and I won't forget his gifts to us--both this past year and in service to our country and its allies.

Please take a moment in whatever way you see fit to remember and honor Clarence Fenske.
