Our new horse...
Expect more from prettypammie soon, but as a teaser...
This is StreetCon out of Huckster and somebody else...a retired--and now adopted--racehorse.
StreetCon

Because Pam adopted him from the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, essentially she's just having to pay a $1,500 adoption fee instead of the between $4,000 and $20,000 prices out there for purchased horses.

What I know about horses you could fit on one side of a 3x5 card.

With big handwriting.

Heh...well, this has been Pam's dream since she was five. I'm pretty convinced that this horse thing will be one of those "spaces in our togetherness" that Khalil Gibhran talked about in The Prophet. I'm happy she's happy, that's about it.

Me, I want an airplane.

Just a suggestion.

Helicopter. You don't need a long runway to use it and it's very handy for moving fallen trees. Or searching for the horse that decides to go for a walk by itself.

That's pretty cool. I've been thinking along the lines of a greyhound myself. Similar logic; just a bit smaller.

Hm. I am curious as to how much the month-to-month expenses on said horse is going to be and how you plan to budget.

Reason being I'm thinking of picking up a small plane. And while the actual up front cost is not crippling, the maintenance and feeding of said beast is what worries me. Vet visits (100 hour checkups), engine overhauls, and just simple stuff like insurance and tie downs.

*curious*

Unlike planes...

Ask Pam...I forget the exact numbers, but even with boarding, &c., keeping a horse is not a financial crippler.

I want a plane, too...but yes, they are expensive to keep!
