Yay!
Towing company already been here...guy was smart...is like "power locks work?" Instead of the whole jimmy around in the lock mechanism, he got a nice long-armed lever on the unlock button and boom-bang-bing, in we go!

I used to work for AAA a few years back and was taught how to use those kind of tools....then I had to buy them! So I still have them. I once had a call to the new city mall (Circle Center) and had a guy that locked his keys in a Lexus, while it was running, AND the alarm on. Still not sure how he did that one.

Anyway he told me there was not only no way I was getting in there, but I was definitly setting off the alarm while I tried.

I looked at him and smiled and in less than two minutes later I was handing him his keys, the car shut off, and NOT once did the alarm.

The guy was so impressed he gave me a $50 tip!

where were you when I locked my keys in my mom's car at a gas station. Shitty little Ford Excel. AAA couldn't open it. But the did push it away from the pumps 'cause the owner of the station was REALLY pissed (like I did this on purpose!). Finally I got hold of my dad who drove out with a spare set of keys. Many years later I now have a car with power locks and have gotten into the habit of locking it with the power button 'cause that way the keys HAVE to be outside the car. I don't have a foolproof method for keeping me from locking myself out of my house though.

Sigh. As you know, I found my phone, but now I'm pretty sure I left my Zio USB Smart card reader on the metro the morning (with a card in it of course). Wanted to try out WMATA's web lost and found app, except their web site is down or something 'cause I can't even get to the home page.

that would almost make sense. (wallet = blue thing that I keep money, credit cards, cell phone, pilot and other misc. essentials in) But I have this feeling I'd raid it and the keys wouldn't be there when I needed them. For a while I had spare house keys in my car and a car key stuck to an old motorcycle in my yard until I showed my neighbor the bike and uncovered the key. Didn't want to leave it there after that. So I've given copies of my house keys to a whole lot of friends. Needed them last week too. Hopefully I'll get a chance to return them to her before I need them again!

Hmm though. Maybe I will.
