hrm....I charged $10/hr for a baby...but probably $20/hr or so for active boyo.
Then again, I'm no teenager. ;-D

I've been lucky enough to have grown my own sitter first, then waited to have more , lol- but when I have needed a sitter that was NOT my oldest son..
The ones you trust are too busy to babysit, the ones you don't know give off bad vibes, the kids you know and like but wouldn't trust with care of a plant will happily *volunteer* to babysit !
Start with a fully stocked snack larder and *ask* what they want per hr.. and then , if you find a sitter you trust, just pay without bargaining.
Just pay up.
most good sitters will tell you what they charge, and its usually between 7 and 10 an hour. (Gone are the days of a dollar an hour per kid which is what I used to charge!!)
Not so much anymore. At least not around here.
