Truer words never spoken.
From divalion: I need to plan a month, or most of one, in which I have NOTHING going on

You know, we almost have it right with the Jewish calendar...when squeezing that 13th "month" in to true things up with the solar year, the whole thing should be a holiday. No work, no deadlines...time out of joint.

That would be worth dropping the plodding regularity of the Gregorian calendar like a bad habit.

Furthermore, the one they duplicate is the moral equivalent of May in the old sense, i.e. a month of chaos and fun... Wheee!!!!!

The only problem is, the Jewish calendar wobbles so much that figuring out any sort of solar-based date is a right royal bastard...

Yeah, but couldn't we have come up with a better name? I mean Adar and...Adar 2?? I mean, now we know where Hollywood comes up with this crap, but really. "OH, shit we need an extra month and the calendar's about to print. What do we call it."

"Uh....just call it Adar 2."

Heshvan kind of falls into that category...the one month with no holidays other than shabbats.
