OMG someone finally did it!
Let's see...I could spend $300 I don't have to buy a GPS unit for my mobile phone. Or I could scour the web until I find something that makes the Assisted GPS (A-GPS) information on my phone available to more than just Verizon Wireless.

You know, I have a GPS phone I'm not using (it showed up in a batch of cell phones I bought on eBay). Should be hackable enough. Too bad Navizon only runs on obsolete hardware.

I'm pretty sure my nextel has TELENAV GPS inside. I have the i850.

That is cool as heck!!! I'm still waiting for collaborative mapping, where the GPS device can be programmed by the customer and updated as to new roads and such and uploaded back to a central server where everyone can get new maps. GPS by crowd sourcing. As a navigation geek, I know I'd LOVE it.
