Is iRobot publicly traded?
Okay, Scooba is taking the mud-room, hall, and downstairs bathroom; Dirt Dog is eating up the kitchen dirt; Roomba is takiing down the Great Room and Dining Room. Yea, verily, doth a great Robotic chorus sound downstairs. Tomorrow, the upstairs floors are to be de-cluttered and cleansed.

Go Robot Team, Go!

Hey, zarhooie I need a "HappyPete's Robot Trio" icon for iRobot-y Goodness posts. You're good at that icon-making-thing-people-do. Can you take a crack at it?

Oh, BTW, in case I forgot to blog it: Yea, verily, iRobot did the right thing and replaced the ever-clogging Scooba that I got "for Pam" [isn't that how we guys say it, dear eeedge? *WEG* ]for the holidays. Getting a swap took some doing--including, eventually, an appeal to an employee in their government division. Never underestimate the power of your personal network for good! Even if it seems like a good deal, don't buy a "new-in-box" iRobot from an eBay seller and expect the warranty to be honored. Even if you are the first user, you will have no end of trouble obtaining warranty service. If you do get it from eBay, you can either fight the good, clean fight like I did--and maybe eventually prevail--or perhaps you can play dumb when asked for a receipt and claim it was a gift.

It's only a matter of time before someone gets the bright idea to strap a gun to it. Happened to the Talon robot.

I wonder why the stock is so in the toilet compared to their IPO? How can they be losing money--they were like the Big Hot Item last holiday season.

Well, I have to take that back. I just asked him to help me get MY Roomba fixed and Rich looked at the extra head on my shoulder. (It WASN'T THERE!)

Harumph.

No, he just didn't think it would be appropriate to bug the guy.

My Roomba stopped sucking. It just spins around, but does not vacuum.

Hmmm...spinning around with no sucking could indicate a clogged cliff sensor...it's trying not to fall off the ever-present cliff...

Causes great distress.

Canned air to the sensors can clear it.

There is a pretty good "FAQ" on the site for most commonly occuring problems.

By-the-by, the bomb sniffing robot just won an award. The Navy just ordered a whole bunch of bomb disposal robots, so things are looking up. Good thing too, because that downward trend was disturbing.
