Quick update on the foot
Break is not healing in yet. Apparently this is not unheard of for "injury+3 weeks" on this sort of break.

I'm allowed to put very light weight on the broken foot..."...To the death." "No...to the pain."

I'll see the doctor again in three more weeks.

Hrm...now I need a "Happy := Broken Footed" userpic to go with these...

It's a foot, it's a weight bearing part of your body, and it's broken. Give it the time it actually needs, because as my (relatively bad) experience has told me (painfully), trying to rush it does irreparable damage.

Listen well to what coleoptera said. Foot injuries must be allowed to heal completely with as little weight on them as possible, else, it gets worse and/or does not heal.

Grumble, grumble...I know how you feel and I definitely empathize, but you're REALLY going to regret it if you don't let it heal as it should. Do you want to have to have it rebroken to get it to heal right?

They gave you crutches, right? I mean, stay totally off it. You have a kid to fetch things and be a servant :-D

He's being a really good boy--but he is six. The novelty of helping dad out is going to wear off soon, I'm sure.

That's not an option. Either bone will fill in, or he will have to cut the tendon from the broken piece, remove the broken fragment of bone, and reattach the tendon to the rest of the bone. Yikes!

don't just KNOW. DO.
3 more weeks is nothing compared to a lifetime of pain - or having to have surgery later. (or years of pain followed by surgery)

What everyone else said. I didn't even break mine and I ended up spending 6 months in an aircast because of a really bad sprain.

It will heal faster the less you force things. Seriously.

I just want it to be done, but forcing it won't help.

It is nice to be able to just stand up. As long as I'm not moving or stepping, it doesn't hurt.
